Francesca Grimshaw, BA (hons) QTS in Education.
I've been a qualified teacher since 1995. Before my degree I worked in banking then in retail.
I achieved a 2:1 BA Honours degree in Education with Qualified Teacher Status from Lancaster University in 1995. As part of my degree I taught in many primary schools across Lancashire and I went straight from university to a job as a Year 5 class-teacher, although I've taught the entire primary age range during my career.
I've several years experience in tutoring for 11+ grammar school entrance exams
I specialise in preparation for 11+ style school entrance exams (such as Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School). My eldest son was educated at BRGS, and I've a daughter in year 11 and sons in 9 and 7 at BRGS at the moment.
I love my work. I enjoy motivating children to learn, and aim to make learning fun and memorable. It is so rewarding to see children grow in confidence and make progress in areas they'd previously been worried about or were struggling to understand. I love seeing a child's face when they realise they can do something they thought they couldn't.
Tutoring takes place at my home address in Haslingden.
I have a full and current DBS (formerly CRB) certificate (issued 2014).
